Rednecks and Bonfires

May 4, 2015

Hey Y'all,

Another good week in good ol' Bonifay.  Not a whole lot interesting happened.  Monday we went Arby's to get some food and it was so cold in there!  We could see our breath.  That was no bueno.  Wednesday we were teaching this woman, Jeanette Sweet, and things were going well then a couple members came to visit her and drop off some food.  It was awesome!  Unexpected member present!  Best thing ever.  We worked Thursday and Friday and then Saturday night we blew it up!  Literally!  We went out to Brother Lubbe's (less active) to teach Jeff and they had a pile of green branches and it was getting dark so naturally the correct answer is to light it up.  So we poured on some gas and lit it up!  It got so high that it almost set a tree about 25 feet in the air on fire.  That tree was right next to their house so we had to cut down the branch that was about to catch fire.  The fire kept dying down while Jeff was on a ladder stretching to cut the branch so Brother Lubbe kept pouring gas on the fire.  I love my redneck members! They bring me so much happiness.  We did get the branch down and the house is still intact so all is well that ends well.  Speaking of ending well that is all I have to write about.  Have a great week Y'all!

Southern word of the week: Wompyjawed

Don't go all wompyjawed on me now.

(like a tire that can still ride but is pulling you away from where you want to go)

Here we have the tree branch just after it was cut.
