WARNING: Spiritual bombs coming!

January 25, 2016

Sup Y'all!

This week was probably one of the longest weeks of my mission.  So much got done!  It was an incredible week!  It seemed like we were always busy and yet still always had enough time to do extra acts of service and finding.  This may be out of character for me but I gots some super spiritual experiences this week I'd like to share.

Wednsday:  We had a world wide missionary broadcast.  It was an incredible experience to hear from the leaders of the church how we can better "Teach Repentance, and Baptize Converts".  Elder Anderson was a great introduction and Elder Bednar came in with a spiritual power house punch to the face!  After that wonderful time we went on trade offs with Perdido.  I stayed here with Elder Grimmaud.  We had probably one of the best lessons of my mission.  We met up with this investigator, Brenda

, who we haven't seen for weeks because she had ulcers in her stomach.  We got there and talked for a bit and then shared the Restoration.  It was incredible to see her wheels turning and the Spirit pretty much kick in the front door and fill the whole house.  She asked us during the lesson where Christ's church was now and then a couple minutes later she stopped us and said "It's the Mormons."  Freak yeah it is!  hahaha we asked her how she was feeling and she described the Holy Ghost to a "T".  Warm, good feelings.  Kind of like butterflies.  She said she couldn't fully explain it but she knew it was a good feeling.  So one thing led to another and now she is scheduled to be baptized on February 27th!

Friday:  We brought out Brother Kanupke to see a couple of investigators with us and this family, the Carson's, we had a great lesson with.  Went over the Plan of Salvation and another Spirit kicking in the door moment.  The daughter, 15, just lit up when we were talking about after this life and eternal families!  It was an incredible experience and bro. Kanupke wants to keep coming out with us as much as he can now!  The Lord is a great and wonderful!   Oh btw they have a family bcd for the 27th of February as well!

Saturday:  We got Elder Grimmaud for a bit because of meetings for his companion so we went and saw a few individuals and set a BCD with Mike Myers for the 13th of February.  Super cool guy.  I wish he was the actor but he isn't.  Then we met with this guy Brad Barefield.  We had an incredible lesson with him.  Yet again the spirit just kicked in the door and filled the room.  Brad has been out of church since he was 16.  He is now in his 40's.  He has a lot of questions and we have a lot of answers and he can see himself joining our church!  By the end of the lesson the Spirit was so strong that he ended up in tears.  Wonderful experience!

Well I am sure that you have read enough so I will close just by saying as I said to a less active yesterday.  "REPENT!"   Repentance is the key that unlocks the door of happiness, peace, joy and eternal life.  If you are not repenting you are not trying.

Seizing New Teaching Opportunities

January 18, 2016

Greetings from the Freeman household (MLK Jr day so we have no open libraries)

Week in review:
Tuesday: Nothing much a lot of people fell through and then ended the night meeting with Mark (LA) and his brother Dana (NM). Dana is really beginning to open up to us so hopefully he will start investigating here soon.

Wednesday:  More appointments falling through but this time while we are taking a youth, Jacob Price, out with us but we make it work out.  Then see Sister Lee who loves us and feeds us a lot of really good food so she brightened up our day.

Thursday:  We went out with Brother Forster and had even more things fall through so he took us to lunch at this super sick diner place.  Good food and signs everywhere with jokes on them.  Then spent the afternoon planning and coordinating our efforts with the ward.

Friday: We saw a referral, Donna.  She is the sweetest lady.  She has a learning disability but really wants to grow closer to God and help her children be better. So awesome!  So we set a BCD with her for the 27th of February!  Exciting!  Then we met up with the missionaries from the Fox Run ward and they gave us a bunch of new investigators and less active's from the ward split.  Now our teaching pool has doubled and we are having a hard time finding time to do just about anything else.  Which I am alright with.;)

Saturday:  Met a new less active who is great.  He works at Papa John's and is gonna hook us up!  Then spent most of the day planning for the new people we are meeting.  Ended the night by meeting with Cynthia and Howard.  Watched the Prophet of the Restoration and Cynthia was mad after it.  Super upset about how Mormons were treated and are treated.  She is going to make a good one ;)

Sunday was bitter sweet.  Mark came to church and we had a broadcast from Salt Lake for our meetings.  Super cool.  Very spiritual.  Then we had a linger longer to meet new ward members.  Well Mark has epilepsy and had a seizure during the linger longer.  Everyone was freaking out except the four or so of us who knew the situation.  So while three of them handled the situation I ate my cinnamon roll and tried to explain to everyone I could what was happening.  I feel super bad for him and hopefully this doesn't keep him from coming to church more.

So yeah that was a lot of typing and I don't want to type more so have a great week yall!

Dodge Ball with our new Ward

Hey Y'all,

So this week was a pretty solid week. Got a lot of work done and had a lot of fun doing it.  Monday we went and played dodge ball with the zone.  Tuesday we were able to go out and see several people and work with them.  (It's really hard to write a weekly summary when you don't have your planner to remind you of what you did)  Wednesdaywe met up with John and went over the Restoration with him.  He's super excited to baptized just needs to follow a few commandments a bit more closely.  Thursday we went out with brother Forster to see a few formers and met up with a super cool lady who we talked with for a while.  People know their Bible very well down here.  Then he took us to a seafood place right off the coast.  Fresh seafood is so much better than Utah frozen stuff.  Then we were racing around on foot to go see a less active and a potential.  Friday was really busy.  Lunch with a member and then he took us out to see a couple of people.  Helped a woman find her great great grandfather on family search.  That was pretty neat.  Saturday was pretty great.  We met with John again and his fiance this time as well!  They are both looking to get closer to God and want to come to church.  Super cool.  Then set a BCD with a less active's fiance after that.  Wonderful spirit was present there.  Then we had stake conference where they dissolved one ward in our stake and so we just inherited a ton of new members and area!  It is great!  We are going to have so much more to do now!  Love it!  Sunday we were privileged to hear from our wonderful Mission President and his wife and our Stake President.  Spiritual giants!  I learned so much and am going to be trying to make it apart of me because of it.  Main theme: Keep the Sabbath Holy.  So look for ways to make your Sabbath more holy as I do for mine.  Be good. Love Jesus.

Heckling the Bishop with Mountain Dew on a trade off

January 4, 2016

Sup Y'all,

This week was a pretty good week.  I will start off by saying that I will be staying in Pensacola for another 6 weeks with Elder Magnusson.  Quick highlight reel since we are short on time.  Tuesday trade off with Elder Peel.  We play dew pong until 2 am.  Next day we are really tired but we had krispy kreme fried in bacon grease with bacon and eggs for breakfast and Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner the night before.....I think I gained 10 pounds and lost 10 years of my life expectancy.

It rained a lot and got colder.  Not fun.  We did get to help someone move and I spent most of the time either heckling our bishop or heckling others with him.  hahaha I love the Freeman clan.  Sunday we didn't have a whole lot going on but were able to set a BCD with a guy, John, who was given to us by another set of missionaries.  That is pretty nice so we will be working with him over the next couple of weeks.  I will write again next week if the good Lord is willing and the creek don't rise.
