Dustin Lynch and Eating Lobster

Sup Y'all!

So this week was a pretty good week if I do say so myself.  Tuesday we had a good district meeting then lunch after.  We went and did some service for President Aukima at his farm.  He had a nice tractor that we worked on and he took a picture (caption should be "she thinks my tractor is sexy")

Wednesday we went to take Elder Olson to transfers and pick up a new car.  Then we got to redo the whole house.  We have so much room now!  It's amazing the difference one person can make.  Thursday I made an awesome 'Frozen' Planner.  I am excited for the next 6 weeks just because of that.  Then we helped Bishop Ard take down his pool.

Friday we helped a member (Bobby Bowen) work on his house.  We framed a bunch and put up sheet rock.  In return he fed us lobster.  Lets just say I am not a seafood person.  Saturday we helped him some more and then that night Dustin Lynch was having a concert so following my leader's advice we went where the people were ;)  Good day.  Very good day.  Yesterday we had church and yeah that was about it.  So yeah that's about my week.  Hope you all have a good week.  Here are some pictures.

Ultimate PI(e) Day for the Bishop's Pool Boys

Hey Y'all,
Well you see here Monday we had a Family Home Evening with a couple families at the church and then taught a less active.  Tuesday we taught some people and played some basketball.  pretty great.  Wednesday we walked forever.  we spent 2 1/2 hours walking only to find no one.  That wasn't fun 84 degrees and humidity is starting to kick in.  Not fun at all.

Thursday we weekly planned for most of the day.  Best part about it is we had T-Bone Steaks for lunch.  None of us had ever cooked steaks but they turned out dang good.  Friday we went to the jail and were there for 2 hours visiting multiple inmates.  We have become quite popular apparently.  haha  Then we went to Waffle House for lunch (Jim Gaffigan might be wrong here.  It isn't affle even if the W is out on the sign.)  Then we went over to the Bishop's house to help him clean his pool.  We ended up soaked by the rain and Elder Whitney's desire to soak everyone with the hose.  Saturday we taught a couple lessons in the morning then got fed lunch at Subway.  We then headed down to Stake Conference in Panama City.   That was good.

Then the high light of the day PI(e) DAY!!!!!  We had a nice big group bring pies and ate those after Stake Conference.  Unfortunately for us our ride home left us so we ended up staying with some other Elders about 45 minutes from Panama City with nothing but the clothes on our back.  That really sucked.  Oh well it's over now.  Sunday we finished up Stake Conference and then came back to Bonifay and then had dinner with a member who cooked our Ham.  Finished the night finding out transfer news!  I am staying in Bonifay for 6 more weeks.  Elder Olson is getting transferred but Elder Whitney is staying.  Well it's gonna be a fun week and I hope Y'all enjoy it.

Food for Thought

Hey Y'all,
So this week was a pretty uneventful week.  I wasn't in my area a whole lot due to trade-offs but it was all good.  Tuesday after district meeting I went with District Leader Elder Farris to Chipley.  We did a lot of finding.  Wednesday we taught a lesson in the morning and then traded back.  We went and did some service for a less active.  We ended up ripping apart a car port.  fun stuff.  Thursday was a rough weekly planning day.  Did that all day but did end up going to an investigators house to watch a movie and found out that a recent convert was one of her best friends.  So we had a good solid movie night.  Friday we helped a Pentecostal church with a food give away thing and they loaded us up with food.  Our fridge and freezer went from almost empty to overflowing.  Great stuff.  T-Bone steaks, giant ham, oreos and of course PUMPKIN PIE for Pi(e) day coming up!  Super stoked for that.  We drove around a lot Friday trying to find people and nothing worked but we did get to see a less active family that fed us.  Then we went on another trade-off and I went back to Chipley.  Saturday consisted of service.  We chopped logs for hours on end.  That was about it for the trade off.  Sunday...Church, food, studies, food, baptism for Chipley sisters and choir....food...don't worry we have food in case you were wondering.  so....yeah....I am going to leave you with that thought and a picture of me with my pies and food.  Have a good week.

Polygamy for the Win!

Hey Y'all,

Things are going well down here in the snowless wonderland of Bonifay, Florida.  So a recap of this week.  Tuesday we had zone training. Super good.  They were able to hit on all of the points that we were striving to improve.  Very good.  Wednesday it rained like there was no tomorrow.  Sheets after sheets came down.  Makes for good missionary work though because people feel bad that you are in the rain so they let you in.  Thursday we weekly planned.  While we were taking lunch we had a surprise visit from the AP's.  They were coming to do a tradeoff with some Zone Leaders and were meeting in the middle but the zone leaders didn't show up so we just got to have a good discussion on whether or not they were taking our car.  We kept it so we are all good.  Friday we visited Robbie in jail and then made our way to visit some potentials.  We met a woman named Joann who is super cool.  She's met with missionaries for years and just hasn't committed yet so we shall do that.  Then we met with the Erickson's.  They are legit.  He is going through chemo right now so we can only see him every other week but she works with a member and has had a lot of talks with them about the gospel and is pretty much ready to be baptized.  So we showed up and it was just him so we talked for a bit and then we were talking about his living in southern Utah around polygamists and his wife walked in and heard that and then started talking about what the member had told her and how it related to the Book of Mormon.  Perfect segway!  So we had a nice discussion about that.  Saturday we moved a family in the ward ALL day.  If you ever need to pack a Uhaul tightly.  These people (the Mork's) are the people to do it.  haha they are moving to southern Utah.  Sunday was church.  Always a good thing.  Got in contact with another former investigator who is super ready and prepared.  Now it's just a matter of time.  To cap off the week Elder Whitney and I had a Mexican fiesta last night.  Well that's more than you probably want to read so I will stop there.  Have a great week!
