Beach Bum watching Baptist fireworks

Hey Y'all,

So this past week....it happened.  Tuesday we had district meeting and our Zone Leaders came to teach us and to take me to Panama City Beach!  So we drove the hour down there and walked around and talked to people.  Had a really good conversation with a Jehovah's Witness.  Taught an investigator and then went to have dinner with a converted Jehovah's Witness.  Super awesome lady!

Started Wednesday off with a run to the beach.  That was pretty cool.  I got to see dolphins in the wild.  That was sick.  Then we traded back and Elder Whitney and I finished making the map of our area.  Thursday we went out with a member to replace an air conditioner.  You'd think that it would be simple.  Slide the old one out.  Slide the new one in.  Easy enough.  Four hours later we finally got everything situated.  He then took us grocery shopping and to lunch.  Awesome member.  Bonifay is probably the greatest place on earth to be a missionary.  We then did some weekly planning and then traveled to Chipley to do a tradeoff with them.

So Friday I was over in Chipley.  We did some yard work for the morning hours then taught a couple of people.  Drove back to Bonifay and I was reunited with my companion.  Saturday was an alright day.  We hung some sheet rock for a member and then ate food and studied the scriptures.  We proceeded to go and teach a few people and then ended up doing some more weekly planning.  Sunday we went to church.  Went to a member of the Bowen clan (Josh) to have lunch with him and his family.  We ate in there temporary house and then they took us to where they are building their new house and said they are going to try and get us to come work on it this week!

Came home studied some more then went out with Josh Bowen's son, Brent, and saw a couple of people.  We ended the night with eating dinner and watching the "4th of July" firework show that is put on by the Baptist Church.  I would like to give a shout out to Lewiston Utah for putting on a better firework show.  (If you don't know where or what Lewiston is than that proves my point even more.)  Looking forward to a good week here in Bonifay.  Be good. Love Jesus.

Dehydration is a one time mistake

Sup Y'all!

Good week here in Bonifay.  Monday we got dinner from Bishop's family and played some basketball for P-day.  Tuesday we had district meeting and then went and got a family hooked up with missionaries in Texas for when they move there.  Then we went out and met with Jessie (the investigator who is getting baptized in August.  Then we had a lesson with Betty  (The July 3rd BCD) and finished the night having dinner in Bishop Ard's home with a less active.  Wednesday we went out with a member in the morning to see a few people.  From there we taught our eternagator, Joann.  She is an awesome and knowledgeable woman but just doesn't see why she needs to get rebaptized.  Hopefully we can fix that.

Then we went to a few less more less actives and went to a members house for dinner where I suffered from heat exhaustion and dehydration....yeah that is a one time mistake......Thursday we drove down to Greenhead and did some work clearing a guys yard in the fishin hottest part of the day.  Awful decision.  Came back and did some weekly planning then went out with another member to go teach a couple of people we are working with. Friday we did some more weekly planning then we taught a couple of less actives then went to LD's for dinner.  He made sweet pork burritos!  Freaking amazing!  It's been too long since I've had Costa Vida.

Saturday we helped that family move out of their house.  Super sad since they are really prepared but they are going to do well in Texas.  That was about it for Saturday.  Sunday, we got to go to church.  from there we went to a memorial service for Jessie's husband.  Then we went and taught one Jeanette Sweet who will hopefully be getting baptized soon.  Met with Betty again and got her ready for her baptismal interview.  Then we went over to a less active's house for dinner and a great discussion on the first 9 chapters of Alma.  That brings us to today.  So have a great week and don't forget to drink water.  It's hot out there.

Baptismal Date

Sup Y'all,

Good week this week.  So Monday we had FHE with an investigator and a few members and our investigator said she wants to be baptized on July 3rd!  Freak yeah!  Her name is Betty and she is a sweet old woman.  Best way to start off a week ever!  Tuesday we had meetings, did some service, and then went out to teach an investigator, Jessie, who said she will be getting baptized in August!  In the words of Elder Frederiksen, "#booya" Wednesday we started the day off with some more service and then went out teaching all afternoon.  Thursday we weekly planned like bosses.  Friday we finally managed to finish cutting down the forest at LD's house.  Now it is just a matter of burning it.  I am stoked for that.  Then we got to go do some more teaching.  Saturday was full of teaching and eating and having fun.  Finally we get to Sunday.  We go to church, do some studying and then go out to teach and have all of our plans fall through.  Alls well that ends well though so it's all good.  Spiritual moment now....I have been studying about pride a lot recently and so I say unto you.  Don't be prideful.  Have a great week!

Hey Y'all,

So here we go with the week's highlight reel.  Starting off Monday we....did something....Tuesday we had our meetings and then played some basketball.  We then got to go out with a couple members that night and Jeff passed his baptismal interview!  (story to be continued later)  Wednesday we worked with LD on putting in some hot water to his bathroom sink.  That was probably the longest small project that I have ever been apart of.  We accidentally cut the wrong pipe and then we had to make several trips to the store so that we could get the stuff to fix the pipes and after all of that work we found out later that all the work that we did was mostly wrong.  LD had his brother in law come out who was a plumber to touch up our work and he told us that we bought a lot of wrong stuff and that the stuff we did was not going to hold up....low blow man....Then we taught some people. Thursday we did a trade off with the zone leaders.  I got to stay in Bonifay with Elder Doberneck.  Super cool guy.  We got to teach Jeff that night at Bishop Ard's home.  Super great spiritual lesson.  Friday we taught some people and we got to baptize Jeff!  Then I went to Chipley for Saturday.  While there we got to tear apart an old movie theater so that it could be used for some dinner theater thing.  Then came back to Bonifay.  Sunday we went to church and I got to confirm Jeff.  Super cool.  Then we taught some more people and ended the night by finding out that Elder Whitney and I are staying in Bonifay.  Good times lie ahead.  So yeah that's all for now.  Have a great week.

BBQ Sauce

Sup Y'all,

How's life going?  Good? good.  Well my week was swell.  Monday we put up a deck for our bishop.  That was fun.  Tuesday we got to go to Panama City to zone training. Learned some things there.  Wednesday we taught some people about Jesus.  Thursday we worked with LD on getting his house together.  Friday we went with him to buy some tile for his bathroom without telling his wife.  Apparently she was upset with him for two days about it.  He was excited that it was only two days.  haha oh the joys of marriage.

Saturday we helped cook breakfast for the relief society and then went and hung up some dry wall for a member.  Then we did some weekly planning.  Sunday we had our ward's 5th Sundaypotluck.  It was great!  Lots of food to eat.  Then we finish weekly planning.  That's about our week.  I shall include some pictures of our week for you enjoyment.

Throwin' down some demolition and paint

Sup Y'all!

Pretty good week here in  Bonifay.  Monday we worked with a less active.  Tuesday we had district meeting and then some other missionary work.....Wednesday we went over to a member's house and made a mess inside their house.  We took out a closet so that they could add more cabinets and counters to their kitchen.  Demolition is awesome.  Thursday we weekly planned and did some more missionary work.  Friday we went back to LD's and started sanding and painting his house.

Saturday the ward did a yard sale/food sale thing to raise money for the youth so we went for a bit and then snuck over to LD's to surprise him for all of the stuff that he has done for us.  We cleaned out his car port and painted more of his house.  His reaction was the best!  That night we went and met up with Jeff who is supposed to be getting baptized saturday and talked with him about giving up his chew and cigarettes.  We were super nervous that he would just turn off after we told him about it but he took it in a way that completely shocked us.  He pulled out his can of chew dumped it all out and then threw the can in the garbage.  He followed that up with tearing up all of his cigarettes!  Most solid investigator ever!  S

unday we had church and that was about it.  Today we are hanging out with our bishop and his family helping them put on a new deck.  Super great family.  Anyway that's about it.  Have a great and safe week Y'all!

Hey Y'all,
Very quick week this one was.  Monday I got some work boots and they are nice.  Tuesday we broke them  in by going back to burn more bushes and trees at LD's.  We went over there and LD was asleep so we decided that the only reasonable thing to do was to start burning bushes.  Elder Whitney climbed into the vast shrubbery and exposed it to a highly flammable liquid known to men as gasoline.  He escaped the nasty vines and wilder-beasts.  I took the tie off my neck and the shoes off my feet and doused them with gasoline and threw it into the wilderness in an effort to subdue the creatures.   It was a perfect throw.  It hit the eye of the beast and in no time the flames were roaring.  Meanwhile in the house LD wakes up to the smell of smoke.  Out the front door he walks only to find flames and pillars of smoke erupting from the back of his house.  He ventures back to find us burning down his pile of shrubbery.  Very exciting day.

Wednesday we went to Fort Walton to gain training on how to stay healthy and survive hurricanes. That was fun.  I made it onto the mission blog.  Don't worry I am looking good ;)  Thursday we worked some more.  Friday we continued to kill it and then Saturday....Saturday almost killed us.  It all started at 8:30 in the morning.  We went with LD to breakfast at a less active's house, J.R. Kelly.  He made a giant breakfast and then we went and cut more trees down for LD.  Followed that with a trip to K.C.'s Pizza and Grille for lunch.  At this point we are stuffed out of our minds.  We get back and go out with a member to the house of an investigator who's husband had passed away during the night.  She seems to be doing really well with it so that is good.  After that we went out to the Lubbe's to eat some more....I can honestly say that I didn't know that my stomach could hold that much food.  It was a great day though.

Sunday we went to church and then taught some people.  Nothing too spectacular there.  Well that's all from this week.  Remember to not shoot the squirrel until you see the whites of it's eyes.  But if you don't see the whites of it's eyes shoot it anyway.
